Blooming Beauties

Imagine a lazy stroll in a beautiful garden in an early morning after a cold night. First, you are stress free, then its the nice weather and then its these beautiful blooming beauties...What a feast to our soul and eyes!!! Yes, you are right. I am talking about flowers :)

Ram always makes fun of me whenever he sees a bunch of flowers and me with my camera, what madam not clicking....sometimes its just that quick click and walk away. But today when I sit back to see if I had really taken anything nice, it became a challenge to find atleast few blooming beauties. From now on atleast, I should become or rather behave like a photographer with a passion to make photography a profession.

Seeing blues and violets makes me crazy. Being raised in an asian soil known for roses, lotus and sunflowers make me woow everytime I see something in Blue&violet family.I still remember seeing a bunch of violas in Niagara falls garden for the first time and I think I would have done atleast a dozen click.

One more in Kumarakom

next few are from my dear homeland now - Kongsberg. I love Kongsberg in Spring :))

and this one is from my own garden.

and yeah I managed to click some blues in Kodaii trip.

my next set of favorites are white...white for peace or rather now its all wait for peace :)

I guess this blog will be incomplete without the queen of flowers - Yes, a ROSE is a ROSE is a ROSE :)) The first one is from my garden again. I guess the pink one is the best of all :) I clicked this in a recent visit to Oslo Park. The other ones are also from there.

Few more Oranges and Yellow :))

Last but not least, Yes I did mange to click my national flower once :)

More to come hopefully from my new DSLR.

Camera and Me

Its been quite sometime I wanted to explore my photography skills. My love for photography started way back in 2005 when I first visited the United States of America on an onsite assignment.

I had been using my sister's film roll camera during college and initial days of Cognizant. Then its my dearest friend Raj who presented me a Nikon Coolpix P&S as a gift from his onsite visit to US. My assignment happened immediately and I was very glad to start using his gift as a maniac clicking everything I started seeing around in my new home in Jersey. How could you not - when it starts snowing the very first morning when you wake in an alien land (not exactly!!! I had most of my friends over there at that time :)) and open the windows curtain to see what it looks like. It travelled with me to many states in US with New York as an unforgettable destination. Why Unforgettable - there is a sad story behing that :( Its over the Brooklyn Bridge that I last used that tressured camera. I still remember my small sleek camera flipping over the iron rails from the top of the bridge until sadly rested under the tyres of a running car.Sorry Raj :(

Then is when my real hunt for a good camera started. After lots of research, consulting, advices, I finally ordered Canon Powershot S2IS. I still remember the day bunking office (it was a work from home) and eagerly waiting at my home to receive my parcel safely. (I assume my ex project manager will not be reading this blog :) I had told him I am receiving some important papers in courier from India and I need to stay back at home to receive them as they could not be left unattended in post box even for few hours ;))

Powershot travelled with me the rest of US. Oh yeah, I still have them safe in my wardrobe :).

After marriage, I had been using Ram's Panasonic P&S for sometime. Well, I have another sad story here. You must be wondering how irresponsible I am in handling cameras :((. This time, its not my sole responsibility though. We were on our Italy trip, tons of pictures already loaded in our camera, It was the last day of the trip and we just settled for a late lunch around 4PM in Mc Donalds. All of us were soo damn tired and hungry eagerly waiting for our burgers. Ram had kept his backpack between his legs. We were warned about robbery in Italy from the day we started planning our trip. We (or rather Ram) was always were cautious but I guess Italian thiefs are trained much better. It just vanished from us (yeah, we were 8 of us) without even anybody's slightest notice. No pats for guessing - Yes, the bag had - our camera, memory cards, ipod (my first birthday gift to ram - it was juz one month old), house keys, my favorite pink umbrella and oh yeah OUR PASSPORTS :((. How we reached Norway again, its a big story.

So, this time its Ram's turn to get a new one. Again the same research, analysis and reviews - this time Canon Powershot 10X. Wow!!! how much technolgy had improved over the last time I bought my Powershot S2IS. This sleek beautiful thing travelled Singapore, Kodaii, Kumarkum, Coorg, France with us. I think I would have clicked atleast 1000 pics of Shravan with this :) and I am still clicking with this.....

My craze for DSLR is making me a maniac now!!! I have hinted Ram that my birthday is soon coming and I dont want anything big but just a Canon DSLR 550D. Fingers Crossed. Will update you all on Dec 6th :)))

Happy Clicking :)
